EN: As part of the "Buildings tell a story" campaign, the Lions Club in Brühl, in cooperation with the city of Brühl, donated almost thirty boards with background information on the history of the buildings in early 2011. This gray board with white letters is located at the entrance to the Clemens-August-Hauptschule at Clemens-August-Straße 33 and bears the following text:
Clemens August School
(once alumnate)
In 1899/1900 the building was built as an alumni (boarding school). In this way the council hoped to attract additional students to the grammar school. During the First World War, the building served as a reserve hospital. After the war, the alumnate was closed and converted into a boys and girls school in 1920.
