This imposing Art Deco courthouse was constructed in 1937. It is the second courthouse for the county, replacing a structure that was built in 1888. The bold geometric patterns and strong symmetry are typical of Art Deco courthouses in Kansas. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
