We are a Protestant Christian congregation, reformed and part of the PKN.
Until the 1980s we were a Reformed Federal Church. After that it slowly changed to the center of the church, to a confessional congregation. Yet every Sunday we continue to read the precepts of God, which can be the Law or a rule from the New Testament. We read from the NIV, we sing psalms (NB) and hymns from a number of collections.
In the services we proclaim the love of God, the reconciliation and forgiveness in Christ and we pray for the power of the Holy Spirit. In doing so, we try to translate the message of the Bible to this time. Listening to all our members, we seek together the kingdom of God in this world. We hope to continue with this until Jesus returns in the clouds.
We have been a small municipality for years, but that also has advantages: we know each other and are there for each other if someone needs help and assistance. But of course we are happy with everyone who wants to join us.
Our church building is also a municipal monument, beautifully situated in the Sluipwijk lake area. Inside, a modern and comfortable interior that we purchased after the 2016/2017 restoration. The pews and the large hanging pulpit are gone. We now have good chairs, a nice low pulpit with matching baptismal font and communion table. A new sound system with LCD screens makes it complete.
