This former school building can be found on Christian Street in Peel. The Peel Clothworkers' School occupied this building before it moved to its current site on Derby Road in the town.
The foundation stone of this school was laid in 1842 by Bishop Short at a site presented by E.M.Gawne. The school opened the following year with Bishop Short, the vicar and church wardens of German, the High Baliff of Peel, and E.M.Gawne as its Trustees. (
