The Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Depot for Atwood was constructed in 1889. This two-story "combination" depot had living quarters for the station master and his family on the second floor. Having outlived its purpose, the depot was relocated to the northwest corner of Lake Atwood, where it now houses a non-profit crafts co-op. A caboose, in Burlington Northern livery, is nearby.
