"The church with a single nave and polygonal head was rebuilt after the fire of 1668 and has survived to the present day as a parish church.

Before the fire the temple was covered with gabled wood, but after the fire it was covered with a barrel vault over fax arches. The main chapel is covered with a 16th-century transept vault. Admirable are the ruins of the cloisters and outbuildings that are in a state of disrepair. We should not miss the garden with the pond, the pile, the stone fountain and the fountain excavated in the rock, where there is an underground canal that leads the water to a small pool dedicated to the irrigation of the fields.

Its beautiful façade consists of a magnificent façade divided by two buttresses. The archivolts are perfectly decorated with iconography from the Romanesque period. Attached to the façade, the cloister of the monastery was later built, of which only these terraced arches remain today. Inside the church are seplucros where knights of Santiago were buried in the twelfth century.

Of particular note are the Gothic paintings that decorate the high altar and its possible risk of disappearance if the appropriate measures are not taken. It depicts the archangel St. Gabriel and the Virgin Mary. In the vault Jesus is represented among the kings of the time, John II of Castile, Mary of Aragon and his son Henry, future king (Henry IV). These frescoes were created to commemorate the Holy Year of St. James in 1434.

Inside the church is a magnificent museum composed of Gothic sculptures and stone altarpieces of great value. Hopefully we will find the person who knows best about this church, and is none other than the pastor. The surrounding monastery is dilapidated and in a state of disrepair, so it cannot be visited. According to legend, the Virgin appeared to a neighbor in this place. She told him she had to build a church for his devotion. It must have happened there in the 14th or 15th century, but it was not until the 16th century that it was decided to build the convent, specifically in February 1520. Before it was finished, a monk and a guardian already lived in it. In 1668 the building was the victim of a fire, which led to its decay. Yet it was not until the French invasion that the convent was abandoned. These destroyed the monastery and killed several religious."
