"Lindoso is famous for the magnificent group of espigueiros that it preserves.
These small stone constructions used for the storage of agricultural products, are harmoniously integrated into the landscape, reaching the number of 64, being one of the most notable concentrations of espigueiros in Portugal .

The espigueiros are grouped on one of the slopes of the hill on which the castle sits , forming an eira , a collective space for agricultural work.
The espigueiros of Lindoso were built in the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries were indispensable elements for maximum performance of the culture of corn, with its excellent conditions for the conservation of the product before the weather and animals.
Its walls, with vertical openings for ventilation, and the covers are made of worked stone, some with decorative reliefs, all of them are crowned by an apotropaic cross."
