Calderwood Butte is a popular hiking and biking trail. The complete 1.5 mile loop has an altitude change of about 283 feet; the terrain is quite rough in places. There is a trail map on display here so that you can choose your desired route. This trailhead is at the parking lot on the east side of the Butte, on N 99th Avenue. The lot is relatively small compared to the popularity of the trail so it is best to arrive early.
The trail is open to walkers, joggers, dogs (on a leash) and mountain bikes. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail. The trail is dirt and rock, and there are places where some rock crawling and climbing is required.
