"The church of Fatima in Ourense is located in the Couto neighborhood. On its main façade, the image of the Virgin of Fatima stands out, over four meters high, sculpted in stone by the sculptor from Ourense, Antón Failde .
The temple stands out among the buildings in the area, surprising the visitor with the detail of the architectural work. Its interior, if possible, surprises more. Some huge windows of old glass and more than six meters high represent: the Annunciation, the birth of the Lord, the Visitation, the Purification, the Co-redemption and the Mediation.
On the altar there is a niche that houses a 65-centimeter high image of Our Lady of Fatima , cast in silver.
In 1946 Bishop Blanco Nájera inaugurated the classic-modern church. The temple has a Latin cross floor plan with a single nave inside. On the outside it looks like a fortress. The façade of three streets houses in a dressing room the stone image of the Virgin Mary sculpted by the Galician sculptor Failde. On a square base that supports four transverse arches, the dome rises, culminating in a lantern with an octagonal base. The apse also has an octagonal plan."
