The wood carving of a stag beetle is located in Trentham Gardens in the Trentham Estate.
The stag beetle carving can be seen near to the lake on the Capability Brown Walk at Trentham Gardens.
The ‘Capability’ Brown walk is a mile-long walk around Trentham Lake with wood carvings to spot along the way.
Capability Brown was employed at the Trentham Estate from 1759 to 1780, and his work included extending the mile-long lake and the landscaping of the surrounding parklands.

The stag beetle carving has been created by Andy Burgess a professional Chainsaw Wood Sculptor.
"The 7 foot high Stag Beetle was carved from a large Cedar Trunk at Trentham Gardens. Lots of intricate detailing and burning with a blow torch. Due to its scale, it was possible to complete the majority of the work with just chainsaws." SOURCE: (
