Op het Kerkplein in Monster staat een natuurstenen dorpspomp.
Dit is een replica uit 1984 van de helaas vernielde voorganger die vanaf 1748 op dit plein stond. Het bronzen mondstuk is nog van de originele pomp. De pomp heeft een aantal jaren in het plantsoen aan de Zeestraat gestaan.
Op de oorspronkelijke pomp stond een familiewapen met een onderschrift dat luidde:
"Den Heer Gerard Schaap heeft deze pomp doen bouwen
Tot een gedagtenis voor die hem komt aenschouwen.
Anno 1748
Hersteld 1885"
De replica is levensecht, maar is niet aangesloten op het waterleidingnetwerk. De pomp geeft dus geen water en heeft voornamelijk een sierwaarde.

There is a natural stone village pump on Kerkplein in Monster.
This is a replica from 1984 of the unfortunately destroyed predecessor that stood on this square from 1748. The bronze mouthpiece is still from the original pump. The pump has stood in the park on the Zeestraat for a number of years.
On the original pump was a family crest with a caption that read:
"Mr. Gerard Schaap had this pump built
As a memorial for those who come to see it
Anno 1748
Restored 1885 "
The replica is lifelike, but it is not connected to the water supply network. The pump does not give water and therefore mainly has an ornamental value.
