St. Anne also known as Ann or Anna, from Hebrew Hannah, meaning "favor" or "grace", of David's house and line, was the mother of the Virgin Mary and grandmother of Jesus Christ, according to Christian and Islamic tradition. Mary's mother is not named in the canonical gospels, nor in the Qur'an. Anne's name and that of her husband Joachim come only from New Testament apocrypha, of which the Protoevangelium of James (written perhaps around 150) seems to be the earliest that mentions them.
St. Anne is patroness of unmarried women, housewives, women in labor or who want to be pregnant, grandmothers, and educators. She is also a patroness of horseback riders, cabinet-makers and miners. As the mother of Mary, this devotion to Saint Anne as the patron of miners arises from the medieval comparison between Mary and Christ and the precious metals silver and gold. Anne's womb was considered the source from which these precious metals were mined. St. Anne is also said to be a patron saint of sailors and a protector from storms.

Socha sv. Anny stojí na parkove upraveném prostranství (obklopená nízkým stromoradím) pred kapucínským kostelem Trí králu s kaplí sv. Anny, orientovaná celem k J. Základnu kompozice tvorí vysoký, architektonicky bohate clenený, hmotove trikrát odstupnený trojboký podstavec (s výrazne okosenými hranami, ve strední a horní cásti s konkávne probranými stranami), který spocívá na nízké kamenné ponoži na pudorysu 6úhelníku. Nejvýraznejším architektonickým prvkem útvárející charakter podstavce jsou profilované zalamované sokly s výrazne odsazenými rímsami reflektující dynamicky konkávne probrané strany jak strední cásti podstavce tak kónického nástavce pro vlastní socharské dílo. Podstavec doplnuje na celní strane predstavená ctyrboká oltární menza s jedním kamenným stupnem. Ikonografiky oblíbené pojetí stojící sv. Anny sklánící se nad malou Pannu Marii, kterou svetice sama vyucuje z rozevrené knihy se nijak nevymyká z pocetné barokní socharské produkce. Málo obvyklý je pouze mladistvý vzhled sv. Anny, která bývá spíše zpodobována jako starší žena. Podstavec doprovází 3 nápisy vztahující se k morové epidemii v roce 1713, se kterou souvisí vznik socharského díla. Záchrana mnichovohradištského panství od moru byla pricítána prímluve sv. Anny a hrabe František Josef z Valdštejna ji dal následujícího roku jako podekování postavit sochu.
Nápisy (v ceském, latinském a nemeckém jazyce) s chronogramy jsou vyryty v obdélných zrcadlových polích s vykrojenými rohy ve strední cásti podstavce.
