Saint John of Nepomuk (or John Nepomucene) [Czech: Jan Nepomucký; German: Johannes Nepomuk; Latin: Ioannes (or Ioannis) Nepomucenus (c. 1345 – March 20, 1393) is the saint of Bohemia (Czech Republic), who was drowned in the Vltava river at the behest of Wenceslaus, King of the Romans and King of Bohemia. Later accounts state that he was the confessor of the queen of Bohemia and he refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional. On the basis of this account, John of Nepomuk is considered the first martyr of the Seal of the Confessional, a patron against calumnies and, because of the manner of his death, a protector from floods and drowning.

Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého, stojící v Hluboké ulici, priléhající tesne k nároží domu cp. 142. Pískovcový podstavec tvorí zužující se sokl, na nemž je umísten ctyrboký drík, v dolní cásti dekorovaný dvojicí stlacených volut a mušlovitým ornamentem. Na celní strane dríku je vytesána obdélná nápisová deska s vykrajovanými rohy. Uprostred hlavice, završené spojenými volutami reliéf jazyka obklopený svatozárí. V kvadratickém nástavci na hlavici vsazena obdélná tabulka bez nápisu. Postava svetce odená do rochety, kasule a sutany s ctyrbokým biretem na hlave, v rukách držící kríž s Kristem, položený na predloktí levice a pravou paží tisknoucí kovovou palmovou ratolest. Levá noha nakrocená, hlava s kovovou svatozárí s peticí šesticípých hvezd se mírne sklání doleva nad kríž. Socha dosahuje výšky cca 160 cm a svrchu je kryta oplechovaným segmentovým portálkem, vystupujícím z hmoty domu cp. 142. Sochu vytvoril turnovský kameník František Fiala na zakázku Servacia Koubuse st. v r. 1732, který ji nechal umístit pred svým domem. Objekt byl r. 1844 restaurován Josefem Cernohouzem.
