The parish of Arbuthnott is situated in the large rural area referred to as The Mearns in the southern part of Aberdeenshire, formerly Kincardineshire, in eastern Scotland. The hamlet of Arbuthnott lies on the B967 road, three miles west of the coastal town of Inverbervie.
The parish hall, now called the Grassic Gibbon Centre, after the pen name of the local novelist Leslie Mitchell, is situated on the north side of the road and features two Evolt charging points in the wall of the south side of the building.
The points can be seen from the roadside which they face, where there is a large parking area.
