Pop. 900.

County of Argenteuil. Diocese of Ottawa. The origin of this parish is as old as the opening of the Long-Sault canal, begun around 1825. The registers of this parish open in the year 1839. The current priest writes to us that the other registers must have been burnt. with the first chapel. Served by mission from 1838 to 1871, date of the appointment of the first resident parish priest. Canonical erection: January 12, 1901. Civil erection: May 11, 1901. See Official Gazette of 1901, page 1192. The territory of this parish includes part of the township of Grenville.
