This bench in honour of David "Tommy" Barker can be found in the car park in front of The Mitre Pub in the village of Kirk Michael.
This rich-coloured wooden bench has a horizontally slatted seat and a vertically slatted backrest. It also has two armrests.
There is a rectangular plaque attached on the backrest which is inscribed as follows:
'IN MEMORY OF A MAN OF KNOWLEDGE
DAVID 'TOMMY' BAKRER
MISSED GREATLY BY HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS
PASSED AWAY ON THE 7TH MAY 2010 AGED 50
MOVED ON TO WHERE THE ODDS ARE EVEN'
This bench in honour of David "Tommy" Barker is positioned to afford a welcome resting place outside the pub it also provides views of the Main Road (A3) which is part of the Mountain Course which is used for the Isle of Man TT and Manx Grand Prix/Classic TT Motorcycle Races.
