Prepare for a 3 to 4 mile hike down RR tracks to find this USGS benchmark. We parked a car at each end of our little hike. I'll provide those paring coordinates later in the description. We found a total of 4 benchmarks on this hike; FC0054, FC0057, FC0062, & FC0063. We DNF'd 2 and found 1 other destroyed.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1968 2.2 MI SW FROM LENOIR CITY. ABOUT 2.2 MILES SOUTHWEST ALONG THE SOUTHERN RAILWAY FROM THE STATION AT LENOIR CITY, ALSO ABOUT 3.2 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG THE SOUTHERN RAILWAY FROM THE STATION AT LOUDON, ABOUT 0.3 MILE SOUTHWEST OF MILEPOST 156, SET IN THE TOP OF A VERY NARROW LEDGE AT THE BASE OF A ROCK CUT THAT IS ABOUT 45 FEET LONG BY 20 FEET HIGH AND IS PART OF A LARGE ROCK BLUFF ALONG THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE TENNESSEE RIVER, 8.2 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH RAIL, 8 FEET EAST OF THE EAST END OF AN OVERHANGING ROCK AT THE TOP OF THE WEST END OF THE CUT AND ABOUT 1/2 FOOT ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE TRACK.
