My Commentary
This one-story, painted concrete block building has a central glass and metal door in the northern facade with a glass panel to the right for 301. The rest of the northern fenestration consists a display window on either side of the entry with two panes of glass with a vertical metal mullion. 303 consists of a wood door facing east and a large overhead door in the north facade. The cornice is painted stone. The building has a flat roof.
301 was the actual gas station. Gas pumps were probably parallel to both West 3rd South and to 1st Avenue West. 303 was the garage for repairs. The removal of the pumps out front was the remodel referred to by the NHRP application. The old signage has been removed - the only proof that this was an old gas station is by the architecture and by the National Register Application.
