At the lakefront, a Moorish-style kiosk houses the busts of the Austrian emperors Ferdinand I and Marianna of Savoy, and of Duke Lodovico Melzi with his wife Josephine Melzi Barbò, the last owners of the Melzi family before the passage to the Gallarati Scotti family. In front of the kiosk stands the monument to Dante and Beatrice by the sculptor Giovan Battista Comolli - in front of which Franz Liszt, a guest of Villa Melzi, composed the Sonata to Dante (1847-1855).
