The Church of the Nazarene in Junction City operates the House of Hope , a thrift store supported by community donations of clothing and household items that are then made available for those people and families who may need some help finding clothes or other goods for their home when in a time of need.

The House of Hope offers a Little Free Pantry unit just outside its front door that is available to those who may need to supplement their food supplies for themselves or their family members. During this time of need, this free food pantry is available day or night for those who need to get some food to tide them over.

At the time of posting this waymark, the Free Little Pantry contained the following items:
plastic juice bottles, Italian dressing, ramen noodles, cans of green beens, baked beens, spaghetti rings, jar of peanut butter, cereal boxes, and bags of lentils, rice and split peas.

The concept of the Little Free Pantry is that the community supports the pantry by donating canned goods or closed bags or boxes of food items to be placed in the pantry unit. Give what you can to help others who need food. Those in need can come to the pantry to take items of donated food to help them from being hungry or malnourished. Thus, the slogan that summarizes how this Little Food Pantry concept works: "Take what you need, Leave what you can." Those that can give food items to full up the pantry are encouraged to donate. Those who are in need are encouraged to take what they need. It is the local community caring for those within the community that are in need.
