The mural shows examples of wildlife that may be seen alongside the canal as you move away from Leeds city centre. There is a heron, fox and an owl.

The Canal and River Trust is a charity responsible for maintaining around 2000 miles of canal and rivers in the UK.

As part of the structures alongside the canals and rivers they spend around £1 million removing graffiti.

As part of an attempt to reduce this cost they have started to sponsor artworks to improve the infrastructure and brighten up the environment. This was first tried in the city of Sheffield and the experiment repeated here in the city of Leeds.

This mural is on the wall of a sanitary unit, that houses toilet and shower facilities for any boat owners who moor their boats here.
