The map was erected by the Canal and River Trust, the charity that is responsible for maintaining around 2000 miles of navigable canals and rivers.
Leeds Waterfront

 Leeds Waterfront is a great place to visit. A thriving community with waterside cafes and bars; att galleries and a world class museum; events and festivals, it's hard to believe it was once almost derelict.

Previously the nerve centre of the vital cross-Pennine link from Liverpool to the North Sea, it was a vast complex of store yards and warehouses filled with dockers busy offloading coal and goods from the barges that plied this wide canal.

Today, you're more likely to see salmon swimming in the river and families enjoying themselves walking around the docks.
