According to Roman mythology, the winged goddess Victoria is the goddess of victory, Roman equivalent of the Greek goddess Nike. Victoria is a daughter of Pallas and Styx, and as a sister of Zelus, Kratos, and Bia.
A gilded bronze sculpture of Victoria is located on top of the Queen Victoria Memorial in London. The memorial was designed by the sculptor Thomas Brock in 1901 and unveiled on May 16, 1911. Victoria is depicted bronze standing on a globe and with a palm frond in her left hand and her right arm raised over her head. Beneath her is a figure holding a compass representing Constancy and a figure holding a club representing Courage.
