Den store statue af Atlas er, efter restaurering på Nationalmuseet, vendt hjem til Carlsbergbyen. Den står igen på taget af Maskincentralen og kigger ud over Franciska Clausens Plads. Statuen er 3,5 meter høj, vejer 300 kg og er lavet af zink og kobber.
Atlas-statuen er udført af Nicolai Outzen Schmidt i 1899 på bestilling af brygger Carl Jacobsen. Den stod oprindeligt ved Carlsbergs marketenderi ”Atlanten” i frihavnen. Da bygningen skulle rives ned, blev Carlsbergbyen tilbudt statuen. Den har derfor siden 1972 stået på taget af Maskincentralen i Carlsbergbyen.
Med tiden er den blevet slidt og udgjorde en sikkerhedsrisiko. Den har nu fået nye fødder og en stærkere konstruktion, og blev i november 2020 sat tilbage på sit tag.



The large statue of Atlas has, after restoration at the National Museum, returned home to Carlsbergbyen. It is again on the roof of Maskincentralen and looks out over Franciska Clausens Plads. The statue is 3.5 meters high, weighs 300 kg and is made of zinc and copper.
The atlas statue was made by Nicolai Outzen Schmidt in 1899 by order of brewer Carl Jacobsen. It originally stood at Carlsberg's market building "Atlanten" in the free port. When the building was to be demolished, Carlsbergbyen was offered the statue. It has therefore been on the roof of Maskincentralen in Carlsbergbyen since 1972.
Over time, it has become worn and posed a safety risk. It has now got new feet and a stronger construction, and in November 2020 it was put back on the roof.
