In the square is this neo-gothic chapel, the work of Antonio Crespo in 1897, also the Temes house (for the shields, today dedicated to a school) and the statue of Otero Pedrayo.
The chapel has a façade carved in stone in which its elegant façade stands out, the upper triple window and the belfry that houses the bell tower. As we have been able to know, it dates from 1897 and is the work of Antonio Crespo. However, in information that we have been able to find from the cadastre, the execution of the chapel in the middle of the last century is identified. We will do our best to confirm the date on a future visit to the city.

The chapel belongs to the Congregation of the Carmelites of Charity who settled in Orense on March 12, 1879. Being the first Spanish religious institution whose purpose was the education of girls, the chapel is part of the College of Carmelites (Santa Teresa de Jesús Plurilingual School). Its main building that, with three shields, presides over the square, was known in the past as the house of the Temes; We talked about its history and that of the square itself in previous posts, since we have already published the paper models of some of its buildings.
