In this square located to the east of the cathedral, in it a statue of the writer Otero Pedrayo seems to invite you to contemplate the beautiful vision of its apse, the dome and the towers.
As its name indicates, here was the residence of the corregidores, of which there are still some vestiges in the buildings of modern construction: an inscription from the 17th century and a shield from the 16th century.
The place was centuries ago the first location of the Franciscan convent, settled in the city since 1238. Everything indicates that at that time the friars had two houses and the church, but that serious urban disturbances at the end of the s. XIII caused the fire and destruction of the monastery.
