The River Glyme rises to the east of Chipping Norton and meanders it's way through the villages of North Oxfordshire before joining the Evenlode in the grounds of Blenheim Palace. The Footbridge cross the Glyme when it is just a few meters wide and relatively shallow, in the summer months it may easily be forded but becomes a little deeper and swifter in the Spring and Autumn.
