Baflo station is on the Groningen - Roodeschool line. The station dates from 1893. It is the only remaining original station on this line.
The Sauwerd - Roodeschool railway line was opened on 16 August 1893. From Sauwerd there had been a railway to Delfzijl since 1884, of which the line to Baflo is a branch. The line was laid by the Groninger Locaalspoorweg-Maatschappij. The stations along the line were built in two classes. The station in Baflo belonged to the 1st class. Opposite the station is the former station coffee house 'Venhuizen'.
