In Pereiro de Aguiar we can highlight two reservoirs. The Cachamuíña reservoir and the Castadón reservoir , also bringing flow to the Velle reservoir through small streams that run through the parishes of Sta. Cristina de Vilariño and Sta. Maria de Melias.
The Cachamuíña dam was completed in 1954 belonging to the Loña river. It is a type of " Dam " called " gravity " and has a reservoir volume of 2 Hm3 , a reservoir area of 27 Ha with a relief area of 205 m3 / sec . and a drain of 11 m3 / sec .
It has a receiving basin of 122 Km2 . The landfill is located in front of the crown of the dam, having three sewers with a length of 6 m each. The three sewers can be closed with sluices of 6 by 3 meters, producing a dam of 2,075,000 m3 of total capacity. The profile of the landfill is of the " Creager " type, and ends in a free-throw trampoline, with teeth on the counterscarp. There is no cushioning bowl because it is not accurate, given the rocky nature of the bed. It also has a maneuvering bridge for the sluice gates of the relief, installed to increase the capacity of the dam, the structure of the same is metallic.
