The Deva is a river with a rainfall regime, since the average rainfall in its basin is calculated at 1,608 mm per year, which is born in Teso do Deva (A Cañiza) at 800 meters of altitude. It runs in favor of a N / S fracture and to the south of A Cañiza it saves with some abruptness the level of 500 meters in steep ramps of 18% slope to fall at the bottom of the valley that it now travels slowly, on its own alluvium. It drains a 92.3 km 2 basin and tributes to the Miño after traveling 21 kilometers. Its average flow is 3.70 m³ / s .
