Quick Description: As the story goes, Johnny was chasing down a wayward steer and after lassoing it he fell from his horse and died. They buried him in the same field they found him.

Long Description:
A lone grave for Johnny Clare is located in a field on the south side of Highway 60. It is about halfway between Ponca City and Pawhuska. There is a short parking drive to the east of the grave. Johnny was either 19 or 20 when he died. His final resting place can be seen from Highway 60 as you travel east towards Pawhuska. It is marked by a small fenced off plot in the field, with a cross.
