This pedestrian walkway was build in 2001.
In those years, I was a student body representative at the university and we voted to build this pedestrian walkway. The rector wanted to invest one billion pesetas in a commercial tunnel, but we denied it by requesting a pedestrian walkway for ten million. He tried to convince us with photos of people crossing where they should not in other cities and not crossing the pedestrian walkway, but he did not succeed.
This pedestrian walkway is made from iron and used to hang advertising
