The New Santa Fe Regional Trail, length seventeen miles, runs between Woodmen Road and the Palmer Lake Recreational Area, with a rise of about 1200' as you go north from this location. This trailhead is at the south end of the trail, at Woodmen Road. If you go south you'll be on the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail. A small lot at the trailhead provides about a dozen parking spaces. The trail is open to mountain bikes as well as cross-country skiing, hiking, and horseback riding.
