A Hórreo is a building typical of Galicia, Asturias and Portugal. They are usually made from granite and wood, and typically used for saving the harvest of corn, flour etc. They are elevated because otherwise mice will climb up and try to eat the food, but when they reach the top they are turned upside down, then fall and can not gain access.
