This bench in honour of Ian P. Cannell CBE can be found alongside The Isle of Man National War Memorial in the village of St. John's.

This mid-brown coloured wooden bench has a horizontal slatted seat and a vertically slatted backrest. It also has two armrests.

There is a rectangular plaque attached on the backrest of this bench which is inscribed as follows:

‘In Memory of
Ian P. Cannell C.B.E.
Royal British Legion, Isle of Man
County Chairman 1968 - 1974, County President 2006 -2012
and National Chairman 2001 - 2004
A Proud Manxman’

The bench is positioned to the northeast of the War Memorial and looks towards the processional way from the west door of The Parish Church of St. John the Baptist Church up to Tynwald Hill.
