AB Heritage Marker located at the Alberta/Saskatchewan border recounting the division of the NWT's District of Assiniboia when AB and SK became Canadian provinces in 1905.

The marker text reads:

DISTRICT OF
ASSINIBOIA, 1882

To the east of this cairn
lies the old District of
Assiniboia of the North West
Territories.

When,in 1905 when Alberta and
Saskatchewan both became
provinces in the growing
Dominion of Canada, the
District of Assiniboia was
absorbed in the main by
Saskatchewan and in part
by Alberta.
