This windmill was built in Hotteln near Hildesheim in 1812 and, after the windmills were gradually shut down from the 1960s, came to Mollenfelde in 1974, where the bread museum used to be. When the bread museum was moved to Ebergötzen, the windmill also moved. In 2004 it was put back into operation after a complete restoration.
The European bread museum, on the premises of which the windmill is located, shows the visitor everything to do with grain and bread.
