Ordnance Survey trig pillar, constructed in 1950, on the highest point of the golf course in the Aberdeenshire town of Oldmeldrum.

This pillar is situated at 149 metres above sea level on the highest point of Oldmeldrum Golf Course, some twenty miles north-west of the city of Aberdeen in north-east Scotland.

The golf course lies on a rise to the east of the town and the pillar is situated behind the 17th green. It is in good condition and the best of the views are to the west.

STEEPNESS: None.

TERRAIN: Short grass.

ACCESSIBILITY: Reached up KIrkbrae from the town which passes to the north of the golf course and is fenceless. The pillar is only a few yards from the road.

NAVIGATION: A couple of hundred yards up the road eastwards from the golf clubhouse, the pillar is easily found behind the 17th green.

DANGER: Flying golf balls if the course is busy, although from the road the nearest route to the pillar does not interfere with play. CCTV cameras are installed nearby.
