Garden Gate Vineyards produces a variety of fruit wines, all from locally grown fruit. The wine maker is also an artist, and her art is displayed all over the grounds. They have a delightful arbor with tables and a beautiful new indoor tasting and picnic room. Everywhere you look are tilework dragonflies, her trademark. This place is more than just the wine!

Her husband, the entrepreneur half of the team, is colorful and definitely has the Southern gift of gab.

They use no pesticides. They discovered, some years ago, and quite by accident, that the bluebirds they liked so much to look at drive away other birds and eat the insects. Along with the bluebirds you'll see countless cardinals and hummingbirds.

The owners are friendly, open, and warm folks. They'd love for "y'all to come 'n set a while" and enjoy yourself.

The owners have developed a great wassail recipe using the semi sweet muscadine wine and a great Sangria using the Strawberry sweet variety. Both were excellent. Owners also have information about using wines as marinades for meats.
