Cockshutt was a Canadian company based in Brantford Ontario. It was in business from 1877 until 1962 when it was bought out by White Motor Company. The Cockshutt name was used until 1977 when it was phased out.
The Cockshutt 40 was built between 1949 and 1958. It offered a 3.8L 6 cylinder gas engine. There was also a diesel version available. Tech specs may be found here: (

This tractor is one of about 100 vintage pieces of farm equipment, tractors and vehicles on display at Pete's Centre Canada Heritage Museum off the Trans Canada Highway just east of Winnipeg, near the village of Tache.
