Situated at the Eastern end of Hurworth Village, this is 1 of 4 privately owned crossings over the River Tees between Hurworth-OnTees and Yarm. The bridge crosses from the village to Low Hail Farm on the south side of the Tees. Wide enough for road traffic, sewer pipes are also carried, going to a sewage works on the Yorkshire side.

Parking is available in the eastern end of Hurworth Village but please be considerate when parking as there can be limited space at times for local residents.

The bridge was built between 1877 and 1879 and was jointly financed by Lord Rokeby and the villagers. Lord Rokeby the owner of the land on the Yorkshire side of the bridge needed fertiliser for his fields and the villagers needed a way to dispose of their waste. The bridge carrying the sewage solved both problems.

The work costing £2000 was undertaken by Robert Robinson of Darlington and the bridge has a length of 0.43 kilometres.
