Translated from the above noted text:
Once upon a time a sea, installed at the Dôme elementary school in the Hull sector in 1991, is a work by Quebec artist Jean-Yves Vigneau. This house boat recalls the existence of the Champlain Sea. The huge keel of the boat represents, like a layer of rock and clay, the geological history of the region while the house and the tree symbolize the human presence and the present time.
One day, the ice may resume its rights and the cycle will start again. On the geological clock, the present time is low tide and the house boat, propped up on props, waits for the water to come back before setting off.
