EN: This sphinx sculpture sits in front of the entrance to a family mausoleum in the public cemetery of Caslano.
The sculpture is about one meter long and has the head of an Egyptian pharao.
The whole mausoleum is in Egiytian style. The building is a pyramid of about six meters height with lots of Egyptian ornaments. It was probably built in the mid-19th century. The oldest burial I could see was from 1862, the newst from 1929.
