"THE PURPLE HEART
Wounded Combat Veterans
1782 Military Order of
The Purple Heart 1932
My Stone is Here for
the Blood They Shed
The Medal I Bear
Is My Country's Way
To Show They Care
If I Could Be Seen
By All Mankind
Maybe Peace Will
Come in My Lifetime
Personal note: I have a friend wounded three times and has one Purple Heart, another wounded three times and has two Purple hearts ... and another friend, like myself, wounded once...and neither have a Purple Heart.
The rules are strict as to how, where, when and why, to have a superior put a soldier in for the Purple Heart.
