Ein Findling ist ein meist einzeln liegender sehr großer Stein, der während
der Eiszeiten durch Gletscher transportiert und an seinem heutigen Standort
abgelegt wurde. Wenn das Eis schmilzt und der Gletscher sich zurückzieht,
bleiben sie als Findlinge liegen. Findlinge sind die häufigste Form der
erratischen Blöcke.
Auch in Neurath, der südlichste Ort in der Stadt Grevenbroich, liegt ein solch
riesiger Stein, zwischen dem Kraftwerk Neurath und dem kraftwerk Frimmersdorf.
Von hier ist eine Panoramasicht mit beiden Kraftwerken möglich.
A boulder is a very large stone, usually lying on its own, which was
transported through glaciers during the ice ages and stored at its current
location. When the ice melts and the glacier retreats, they remain as
boulders. Erratic blocks are the most common form of erratic blocks.
Also in Neurath, the southernmost town in the city of Grevenbroich, there is
such a huge stone, between the Neurath power plant and the Frimmersdorf power
plant. From here a panoramic view of both power plants is possible.
