This is the fourth building built by the congregation in Hatfield since the congregation was organizes about 1670. It replaced the building which was constructed about 1750. The Greek Revival style church was built in 1849. The architect is unknown.
This Greek Revival design of the church features a projecting pediment supported by four fluted Ionic columns. The recessed façade is three bays wide with three identical entrances on the lower level. On each side are paneled piasters. On the right of the middle entrance is a wood plaque with the date 1849, the year the church was constructed. Above each entrance is a large rectangular window. Above the entrance and on top of the gable roof is a short tower supporting a belfry with louvered rectangular windows. A four-sided clock is located between the belfry and the octagonal spire which is topped with a weathervane.
The sides of the church are three bays wide. Each bay has a two story rectangular windows. Each window has six sections arranged in the pattern 1-2-2-1.
