Placed by the Paris Founders Lions Club in 1983, a memorial in Paris's Bywaters Park honors those whose lives were lost in a tornado that struck Paris on April 2, 1982, as well as those who helped in the aftermath.

The memorial is a granite slab, held in place at the bottom by two sturdier granite blocks with a rougher finish. It reads:
The Paris Tornado
April 2, 1982
This plaque is erected in appreciation of all those
who worked hand-in-hand to rebuild the portions of
the city devastated by the tornado and is dedicated
to those who lost their lives in it.
