The 12-foot obelisk headstone for Henry Ball is to be found in the Kirk Braddan Cemetery.
At the base of the column on the front face the memorial tablet has dedication to Henry Ball unfortunately this dedeciation has not withstood the Manx climate very well and most of the dedication is now illegible. However it possible to make out the following:
'HENRY BALL
LATE OF THE LUXOR CIVIL SERVICE
BOMBAY
WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE 15TH...'Below is the Notice of Death for Henry Ball from the Manx Sun, newspaper, of Saturday August 22, 1895:
'
Births, Marriages, and Deaths.
-------------------------------
DEATHSOn Saturday, August 15th, at 20, Woodbourne-square,
Henry Ball (Retired List Indian Civi Service Uncov.),
ageed 88 years. - Friends will please accept this the only
intimation.'
From the Isle of Man Birth and Burial records 1598-2011 Henry's burial at Braddan is recorded as taking place on 18 August 1885.

Probate on Henry Ball's estate was granted on 16th December 1885:

BALL Henry.Personal Estate £737 9s 4d. in England
16 December. Administration (with the Will) of the
Personal Estate of Henry Ball formerly of West-View-
terrace Onchan but late of 20 Woodbourne-square Douglas
both in the Isle of Man. Gentleman who died 15 August
1885 at 20 Woodbourne-square domiciled in the Isle of
Man was granted at the
Principal Registry to Edward
Claque of Douglas Accountant.'
