The former Masonic Lodge No 690 was built as a three story tall office building. The ground floor was designed for various commercial shops. The middle floor was the Lodge meeting areas, and the top floor was for office spaces. The building is a red brick and mortar structure that has been nicely preserved since it was built. Embedded in the middle of the brickwork toward the the top of the building's facade is a slab of sandstone engraved with the text: Masonic Temple. When facing the building, on the viewer's right side, at the bottom corner is a black marble cornerstone with text on the side facing toward the street. The other side exposed to the side of the building is blank, with no engraving. See below in the Full Inscription section for the details of what was engraved into the black marble cornerstone.
