Douglas School is a one-story two-room school building constructed of randomly laid native sandstone by the WPA in 1936. The hip roof has been covered with metal siding. On both the front and back, there are two wide ribbon window openings. They have been covered with wood boards, and three of them have had small windows added.

A single wood front entrance is recessed behind an arched cross gable. At the center of the rear elevation, a stone chimney rises above the roof line. Four stone picnic tables and benches are located across the back of the building, with a stone fire pit.

The school is located at 515 N.E. 3rd Street in the northeast portion of town.
